How to Run an Emulator Game

According to Wikipedia, an emulator in computer science replicates (provides an emulated version of) the functions of one system using a different system, so that the second system functions as (and appears to be) the first. The focus is on replicating the external behaviour is different from some forms of computer simulations, which might be focused on the abstract concept of.

Layman describes it as follows: “I play N64 from my computer”

This guide focuses on the usage of emulators (PSone NES, Gameboy ect). It will explain how to install them and insert roms in their appropriate folders. Then, it will explain how to play them.

Step 1: What console do you wish to emulate? / purchasing an emulator

The method you choose will depend on the game you’d like to play however, whatever you want to play you’re looking for, visit They offer a wide selection of emulators, the ones that function the best are rated most highly and are at the top of the list.

Visual Boy Advance is an emulator for the Gameboy Advance. I’ll be using it as an example.

Emulators are legally permitted. The opposition to this is likely to be dealt with

Step 2: Installing an emulator

Based on the emulator you select to download, you have two alternatives. You can use either winrar or a similar program to extract the file.At site from Our Articles This is INCREDIBLY user-friendly. You can download the trial here. The trial is indefinite and you don’t need to purchase an actual copy. Make sure you get the one labeled WinRAR x86 (32 bit) 3.90

If you’re lucky enough, the.exe file will be created. It will self-extract (install itself) after you double click. Select the folder which the emulator should be installed.

Step 3 – How to Use Winrar

If you’re following my guideline and have downloaded Visual Boy Advanced, you will have to extract the files from the winrar archive your desktop, or folder located on your desktop etc. These are the basics of how to do it.

  • 1. Install Winrar (if not already)
  • 2. To remove the emulator, create a folder to your desktop.
  • 3. Double-click the.rar file.
  • 4. Select the first file that you open by clicking it once.
  • 5. Find the file you would like to delete and hold and press shift while typing. This will pick all files in the achive.
  • 6. Select the Extract icon at the top of the Program
  • 7. Choose the place where you’d like to extract the file.

Depending on the size of the file and the file size, extraction could be brief or you could even have an entire nap.

Step 4

There’s a comical law that is applicable to games. In order to legally have an official rom, the game has to be owned physically. If you don’t have the game but still have the rom , it’s illegal.

Listen to this!

Nobody cares

There are thousands and millions of roms on my PC. It’s like downloading music from the internet.

A quick Google search of “roms”, and you will see results

I am not liable any consequences if you are caught downloading games (seriously, you will never be caught unless you go to Nintendo or sony and present them with your downloaded roms)

Step 5: Organizing Your Roms

There are two options to finish this job: the neat and the messy.

The lazy approach is to dump all your Roms into one folder. This will make it easier for you to find the folder, but it could cause problems to locate your Roms (depending on the number of them you have).

It is possible to arrange the roms that you downloaded in a neat manner. GBA-roms are located in the GBA/roms directory. N64-roms will be found in N64/roms.

If you’re very skilled, you can put the GBA Roms into an area called “roms” within the emulator’s files. Doing so wont effect preformance.

Step 6: Loading and playing the Rom

As with all the previous steps, it’s very easy to forget about this step.

  • 1. Start the emulator. Start the emulator if it hasn’t been installed.
  • 2. Then, you open “file” Then, click “open” after the file munu is expanded. This method works with nearly all emulators.
  • 3. Find the directory where you have your roms. Select the one you wish to play.

Step 7: Complete

Congratulations if it was possible to load and play safely any game!
