In addition to Alasdair’s knowledge and understanding of dogs, he has a remarkable ability to identify what qualities can and should be bred to produce world class border collies. This is most evident in looking at achievements and the pedigree of dogs along the way.
In 1984 Alasdair won the Scottish National with Auld Mirk. In 1993 Alasdair won the coveted Supreme International with Nan, Mirk’s granddaughter. After judging the U.S. National in 1995, Alasdair won the Championship in 1996 with Ben. In 1997, 1998 and 1999 he won the U.S. National with Nan. In three of the following four years, he won the U.S. National with Bill, a son of Nan and Ben. Alasdair won numerous other open trials with Bill (owned by Judy Aycock) including Edgeworth, Bloomfield and the Bluegrass.
Alasdair also won the Bluegrass and Meeker with another son of Nan and Ben and litter mate to Bill, Sweep. Alasdair was first and second with the brothers at the North American Sheepdog Championship.
These championship bloodlines are prominent in our breeding program today. I compete with Alba Cap and won the US National Championship in 2012.
Cap is by Nick, son of Nan & Ben. Cap was 3rd generation of this bloodline to win in Klamath and 4th generation National Champion . Cap’s grandmother, Nan won it on the same course in 1997 & his uncle, Bill, won in 2001. Cap’s gr., gr. grandfather, Auld Mirk won the Scottish title in 1984. It was the 1st of Alasdair’s 12 National Championships, 8 with the bloodline.
Multiple Open trial winner’s of the breed include Don Russell’s Sweep, Peg Anderson’s Hope and Mike Hanley’s Moss as well as my Max (a gr. grandson of Nan’s litter brother & gr.,gr.grandson of Auld Mirk) and Bear, who’s grandmother is Alasdair’s June (June like Auld Mirk, is Redpath’s kind).
In addition to these bloodlines we also import top quality dogs from Great Britain that we feel possess the qualities of future champions both to sell and integrate into our breeding program. Nell, is a very nice female we imported and she is the mother of Alba Cap, as well as the mother of Carnegie’s 2007 Scottish National Champion, Lark and Casey’s 2006 International Supreme Brace Champion, Jill.
Cap is DNA/CEA tested Normal
